Oh crap

One must be careful what one wishes for.

I found a mantid egg case weeks ago on a fence in Thornbury. I carefully prised it off and have been tending it ever since. I’d more or less given up on it until this morning…

Squeeeeeeeeeee! Dozens of them! Running around like ants!

Whatever am I to do with them all?

  5. We done got us a couple o’ eggy sacs and placed them out by our rose bushes, which are swarming with aphids and a host of ladybird beetles we scattered amongst them. I figure the mantids will make quick work of the remaining aphids once they hatch…I’ll try to acquire pictures.


    • OOOh! Do! I remember seeing lots of mantids in Davis. Often attracted to porchlights.
